Ana Odlazek 3rd in WIC Harbin

14. julij 2018

During the night there were showers in Harbin and 2 hours before the start it was all wet. High temperatures dried the track before the race start so there was no doubt about the wheel choice and tactics. Womens race started very tactically and breakaway was not let go.

With 2 laps to go our Ana Odlazek fell, but managed to regain contact with the peloton and then attacked in the last lap to breakaway with Chloe Geoffroy (Powerslide Matter Racing Team) and Li Si Shan (Jiangsu Team). Chloe again made a long sprint to beat both Li Si Shan and Ana Odlazek which finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. Current World Inline Cup leader Katharina Rumpus (Powerslide Matter Racing Team) finished 6th, but remains in lead in general classification.

In men's race there was early breakaway by Bart Swings (Powerslide Matter Racing Team), Ewen Fernandez (RollerBlade World Team) and Peter Michael (Powerslide Matter Racing Team). With 15km to go, Bart Swings (Powerslide Matter Racing Team) attacked again and solo skated to victory, chaser Ewen Fernandez (RollerBlade World Team) stayed away from main peloton to end second, while world champion Felix Rijhnen (Powerslide Matter Racing Team) won the sprint of the peloton to complete the podium on 3rd place.
